Well would you believe it? ... a mere 80 hours after major brain surgery, and this tough cookie is strong enough to leave hospital!
SHE'S HOME!
This can only help her get better quicker, can't it?!
There was some confusion this morning about whether she'd be allowed to leave today or not - nothing ever goes completely smoothly does it ;-)
But I'm really pleased to be updating this with the good news that the question / confusion was sorted out, and she's home.
Just in time to watch the rugby too ...! Hmmm ... just maybe she made the big effort so she could crack open a few beers while watching hunky men run round a rugby pitch. It seems like they've actually implanted an understanding of the rules too ... amazing what they can do these days.
Anyway ... can't write too much right now ... she's summonning me to cook tea.
(Good to have her back! ... No really, it is! ... Kids are chuffed to bits too.)

I know our friendship goes back a long way but if you've forgotten how to cook ... well, er, um, see you again some time. Love Graeme, Kay Girl, Jazz and Misty.

Quite Incredible & Fantastic News!!! Well Done Ruth!!
When I heard you were home I really couldn't believe it.
Like so many other people, you have frequently been in my thoughts this week and it sounds like collective conscious well-wishing may be more than just myth!?? It would be nice to think so.
Well done to you too Chris, the blog's a great idea and as for home nursing, I bet you look great in the uniform(!?), I'm also sure your cooking can't be so bad that Ruth would prefer the hospital(?)
Let me know when a brief visit would be OK? Much love, Tim
Thanks for keeping us updated Chris. Like everone else we have been thinking of you all the last few weeks - so pleased to hear you are recovering well from the surgery Ruth. Your mother has told us she has caught up on some sleep the last couple of days! She has been great at keeping us in the picture but it's even better that we can now follow progress via the blog.
Much love to you all.
Desney and John
Dear Ruth and Chris,
Brilliant news that you are home Ruth. Sounds like you are doing amazingly well. Just one tip, unless the food is inedible, keep Chris in the kitchen for as long as poss - preferably at least 2008.
Hope the newfound love of ruby only extends to vital games of major significance for the national team.
You have been so much in our thoughts in recent days and weeks. Sending you lots and lots of love and best wishes, and hope to see you very soon.
Chris, Andy, Tom and Charlie xxxx
